A magical and
spectacular natural site, unique in the
world, Pamukklae (Hierapolis) is a fairyland
of dazzling white, petrified castle. Thermal
spring waters laden with calcareous salts
running off the plateau’s edge have created
this fantastic formation of stalactites,
cataracts and basins. The hot springs have
been used Roman times for their therapeutic
powers. Both the thermal center with its
motels and thermal pools and the ruins of
ancient city of Hirapolis are situated on
the plateau.
Another thermal center northwest of
Pamukkale, Karhayit is known for its water’s
high-iron content.
Begin your journey
from your hotel in the morning. After reaching
Pamukkale, first we will drive through the ruins of
Hieropolis and its extensive necropolis. We will
then view the calcite terraces of Pamukkale, we will
have free time to explore the terraces and the ruins
before heading to town for our lunch and swimming in
a thermal pool. The last site before the return
journey to our hotel are the Red Springs.
